 UNIT 1 SPEAKING GAMES AND ACTIVITIES

Game 1

WHO IS THE BURGLAR?

       

There has been a robbery in Cocentaina.  

You will interview your  classmates to find out who the robber is. 

STORY 

Yesterday at 10:00 pm there was a robbery in the Bank in Passeig del Comtat Avenue. 

The police was called immediately to investigate the crime scene and found some evidence. 

It had snowed yesterday and there were footprints on the ground in the snow.

You have a character card. Each card has a small number in the lower right corner. 

Look at your card and notice your number, but don't show anyone! 

It's a secret!

The burglar is number 30.

Some evidence were found:

The police found some evidence at the crime scene. The footprints are in shoe size EUR 45,  US 11, 5. And they also found:

- A birthday card saying "Happy 41st birthday"

- A photo of two little boys

- Some dog hair

You need to go round the class and ask/answer questions about the personal information and

 take notes.

- What's your name?

- What's your job?

- Where are you from?

- What are your hobbies?

- Are you married? Are you single?

- Do you have any children?

- Do you have a pet?

When you find out who the robber is, sit down and don't say a word. Wait for the class in silence.

GAME : GUESS WHO

With this game you need to guess your opponent's mystery person before (s)he guesses yours. You can only answer YES or NO.

RULES:

- Play in threes. (A group of 3 students: Student 1, Student 2 and Student 3)

- Pick up 1 ACTIVITY BOOK and cut out page 85.

- Each student chooses 4 animal cards.

- In turns (first Student 1) pick up one superlative card.

- Look at the example and say the following dialogue: 

 Who's the tallest?

STUDENT 1: I'm Gilly Giraffe. I'm  400 cm.

STUDENT 2: I'm Katie Kangaroo. I'm 200 cm.
