EASTER

GENIALLY: Easter

Thousands of years ago Britain had many pagan traditions. These traditions focused on the importance of nature, animals, the seasons and the earth around them. The large rock formation of Stotehenge in England is a symbol of this time and people travel there in spring to watch the sunrise. These traditions continue to be celebrated in the UK today, in fun and friendly ways. Spring is a time when baby animals are born, flowers start to blossom and haversts are planted. It is time of hope and celebration. In many primary schoolsacross the country, eggs are brought into classrooms in an incubator and the children watch them slowly hatch to reveal the fluffly chicks inside. Some Schools have got a pond in which children can watch eggs hatch and grow tadpoles to small frogs. Easter is a shchool holiday in the UK.

Easter in Ireland

Easter in Ireland is celebrated in much the same way as in most western countries, with Easter Holidays, Easter Eggs and even a visit from the Easter Bunny to Ireland.
